I just bought the Bucaneer Infamy game from D2D. I loaded up mp anmd saw only your servers listed. This game must be mostly dead. Still I'm enjoying the sp rounds.

I like coop maps best but would also be willing to play teams, if anyone still plays the game.

Any clans out there play it?

Well, I guess I'll have to reply to myself, lol.

First, after reading the reviews, and the rehetoric a bit closer, I see that this is actually a new game -- hurray, I finally get in on a good game early.

Second, I didn't see a mission editor? Is there one? If not, are you going to produce one? That would seem to be vital to the production of coop and other maps by gamers, in for developing a true commuity.

Third, I think this is a great game, not only because of it's great features and graphics, but also because i happen to own a license to Garage games TGEA, so i can appreciate what went into making this game, at least from from that perspective. I happen to be a C++ hobbyist, although it's been years since I played with it to tell the truth.

Well, best wishes for a good start in the marketing dept!

Sorry, I should have replied to your earlier post, I did mean to but then got tied up with some stuff on my own sites. Nev and Harv are really busy so might not get chance to reply.

Welcome to the site. Yes, things are a bit quiet on the multiplayer front. I'm trying to get a beta test (or it might be an alpha) of the dedicated server admin app I'm working on so that it'll be easier for more people to run dedicated servers, but I'm having trouble finding time to get it ready for release (lots of hardcoded paths to where the game is installed on my own servers, and need to add some client-server progress dialogs so admins know if the commands sent have worked or not).

Hopefully the boxed game release will increase the player base dramatically, and in doing so increase the number of people playing online at any given time. Running lots of dedicated servers is not much use if only 1 player is on at them at a time :P

Yeah, hey there Seadog !!! :D

Glad you're enjoying the SP game....As Spack says, we're releasing the boxed version accross Europe this weekend, so we're expecting ( hoping ) that the server numbers will pick up really quickly...U.K. box release to follow too we're told, so between now and Xmas we should see it grow nicely if the wind is blowing in the right direction ;)

It won't work - that only works for GameSpy Protocol 2, and Steam query protocol. Buccaneer is the first game using the encrypted GameSpy Indie system (GameSpy Protocol 4 I believe) which doesn't allow for direct query access. It's possible, but not without figuring out the encryption system, the unique game encryption key, and the challenge-response protocols. I've spent 4 month searching for a HLSW or similar system so I could add player and server info to the server list page here on the site, and nothing exists yet for GS Protocol 4 (HLSW uses Protocol version 2).

You can get a list of the servers from http://net.gamespy.com/masterserver/?ga ... uccaneerpc , and you can see some of the server info there too. That's what the server list here on the site uses to generate the list of running servers.
