No-one can say with certainty why Pogo Pete is so enraged or why he tirelessly
seeks the location of Pirate Willy. Some say that Pirate Willy was once a ship's
surgeon and sailed with the Scarlet Corsairs before a misunderstanding lead to his
sudden departure. It is rumoured that Pogo Pete, suffering from severe toothache,
went to see Pirate Willy and demanded that he remove it. Whether it was the sheer
amount of alcohol consumed by Pogo Pete to numb the pain that made his instructions
unclear is open to some debate. What is clear, however, is that Pogo Pete had two
good legs before he went to see Pirate Willy and now limps on a wooden peg.

Since that fateful day Pirate Willy has never been seen in the same place twice,
as he attempts to stay one step ahead of Pogo Pete. Sightings are occasionally
reported of an elusive, nervous looking man who tends to keep to the shadows,
but many dismiss these sightings as pure fancy.
Do you think you could find Pirate Willy? Yes? A bold boast indeed, for Pirate
Willy does not wish to be found. He does make an appearance in every mission
in the single player campaign (except the sea-based merchant missions) and a
keen eye might just be able to find him.
